Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Costs Lawyer/Draftsperson/Assistant to join our expanding Costs team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal costs and be comfortable with figures. Experience in drafting schedules of costs or bills would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing schedules and bills of costs, replies to points of dispute, and other documents required during the costs process
  • Negotiating with costs draftspersons and Defendants regarding the settlement of costs
  • Preparing and updating budgets of costs
  • Liaising with lawyers and costs team members
  • Advising on likely levels of recovery of costs
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of legal costs and ability to work with figures
  • Experience in drafting schedules of costs or bills (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
