About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Children's Nurse to join our Community Children's Nursing Team as a Band 6 Community Children's Nurse on a Fixed Term contract to cover sickness for 6 months or longer.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to children with short and long-term conditions within their own homes and wider community.
- Lead by example and demonstrate excellent communication skills, team work, and ability to set high professional standards.
- Work autonomously in role, with a thorough understanding of safeguarding and a broad range of clinical knowledge and skills in paediatric nursing.
- Develop and implement care plans, educate patients, parent/carers, professionals, and other agencies about different healthcare conditions when necessary.
- Manage caseloads, oversee the work of other team members, and delegate referrals or tasks as needed.
- Work in partnership with all levels of healthcare professionals, NHS providers, and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Work flexibly around patient needs, including evenings and weekends, and have a car owner/driver.
Requirements
- Experience in team leading and community working.
- Excellent communication and team work skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong clinical knowledge and skills in paediatric nursing.
- Ability to educate patients, parent/carers, professionals, and other agencies about different healthcare conditions.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
