Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Designer in our Defence sector, you will play a crucial role in developing complete design concepts, scheme definitions, and detailed design solutions using CAD software. Your expertise will be essential in creating piping systems, mechanical flow diagrams, and producing general arrangement, assembly, component, and fabrication drawings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement design concepts, scheme definitions, and detailed design solutions using CAD software.
  • Work on piping systems, mechanical flow diagrams, and produce general arrangement, assembly, component, and fabrication drawings.
  • Produce scoping calculations and component specifications that meet BS/ISO standards and legal requirements.
  • Ensure designs adhere to the AEIL Quality Management System, delivering work within agreed time scales, costs, and quality standards.
Requirements:
  • HND in an applicable engineering/design discipline or HNC with relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design in line with BS/ISO standards.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Experience with design for manufacture, pipework, pressure vessels, and structural steelwork.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit and GD&T (desirable).
  • Familiarity with BS8888 and ASME Y14.5 drawing standards (desirable).
