Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychological input into Probation teams, including case identification and pathway management for high-risk, high-harm individuals with personality difficulties and early life trauma.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological consultations to Offender Managers/Probation Practitioners, Approved Premises staff, and other professionals working with individuals on probation.
  • Work closely with the Enhanced Intensive Intervention and Risk Management Service (E-IIRMS) to identify individuals on probation eligible for direct psychosocial interventions and psychological therapy.
  • Conduct joint work sessions with individuals on probation and OM/PPs to deliver brief interventions, demonstrate techniques, or explore unusual presentations.
  • Develop and deliver training and reflective practice for Probation teams and Approved Premises staff.
  • Supervise other psychologists working within your geographical area.
About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team, providing psychological input into Probation services. You will be responsible for working with a wide variety of client groups, including individuals with complex presenting problems. The successful candidate will be able to deliver established/evidenced-based psychological interventions to fidelity and provide consultation and advice from a psychological perspective to members of other professional and non-professional groups.

Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of a British Psychological Society accredited Doctoral Level postgraduate professional training course in applied psychology.
  • Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, including individuals with complex presenting problems.
  • Experience of teaching, training, and supervision.
