Job Title:

Head of Interpreter Training and Development

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our interpreter training and development efforts. As the Head of Interpreter Training and Development, you will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs for interpreters, assessing their skills, and supporting the recruitment and service delivery of our interpreting services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement training programs for interpreters, including e-learning modules, resource documents, video resources, and live training sessions.
  • Support other team members in the development of training materials and contribute to the strategy for expanding our face-to-face and video interpreting services.
  • Ensure adequate training and induction is provided to all new employees in line with company protocols.
  • Support with recruitment activities through the creation and provision of pipeline training programs for trainee interpreters.
  • Oversee the administration of the interpreting team, working with the Head of Workforce Management.
  • Support with updating and creating policies and guidelines for the interpreting team, including managing team information within the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Demonstrate full compliance with SignVideo/Sorenson standards and policies.
Requirements:
  • Qualified BSL/English Interpreter/Translator with 5+ years of interpreting/translation experience.
  • 5+ years of interpreter/translator training experience required.
  • 5+ years of management experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of video interpreting experience preferred.
  • Sign language interpreting/translation qualifications required.
