About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Support Engineer to join our team at GE Aviation. As a Product Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing the engineering support of our current in-service propeller systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control assigned engineering projects, including risk and opportunity management.
  • Serve as the technical project point of contact for internal and external customers.
  • Control technical requirements from customers, GE Aviation, and regulatory authorities.
  • Develop robust project scope definitions, estimates of work, plans, and schedules to deliver project commitments within financial and contractual constraints.
  • Support bid and proposal estimates using work breakdown structure methodologies to estimate labor and material requirements.
  • Obtain budget approval, kick-off authorization, and lead baseline change requests as required to support project activities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate project requirements, providing mentoring to assigned personnel to aid execution of projects.
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
  • Lead and support lean activities and events.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, systems, engineering, or aerospace engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Solid project management experience in an aerospace or similarly regulated environment, ideally in a sustaining support role.
  • Knowledge of the aviation regulatory environment, including civil certification requirements, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects and engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedule commitments.
  • Demonstrated competency in using standard Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools, such as MS Project.
  • Technical background in complex systems, including mechanical, aircraft control, and/or electronic control systems, and a working knowledge of hydromechanical control systems.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with a working knowledge of lean or six sigma.
