Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our team at a leading distribution company. As a key member of our logistics department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation network.
Main Responsibilities:
- Transportation Planning: Verify and meet established deadlines for product fulfillment, outgoing shipping, and transportation.
- Route Optimization: Organize daily runs and ensure the delivery of goods is continuously achievable on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze data to assess performance, discover logistical problems, and devise plans for improvements through our tracking system.
- Warehouse Coordination: Allocate jobs to the warehouse team throughout the day, judging each order individually and working out what vehicle, run, and any other logistic implications which may arise per order.
- Customer Service: Help deliver a next-day service to our clients' network of customers across the country.
- Logistics Operations: Maintain logistics operations while liaising with warehouse and customer service to ensure the highest standards of service.
- Compliance: Ensure that shipping methods are complying with rules, regulations, and laws - Coordinate and resolve transport-based claims and discrepancies - Monitor and report quality returns that impact on the logistics function.
Requirements:
- IT Literacy: Essential for this role.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and interpret the information effectively to continuously improve the department.
- Flexibility: A can-do attitude, flexible with the ability to react quickly to the needs of the customer.
This role is ideally suited to candidates who have worked in a transport planning role previously.
