Our clients, a leading distribution company, are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their team due to growth within the company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning daily orders, seeking continual improvements in all aspects of the transport department, and providing ongoing support to the Warehouse team.

This is a permanent position that offers the potential for career progression with the company. The role involves directly reporting to the Logistics Supervisor and Head of Operations.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Verify and meet established deadlines for product fulfillment, outgoing shipping, and transportation.
  2. Organize daily runs and ensure the delivery of goods is continuously achievable on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis.
  3. Analyze data to assess performance, discover logistical problems, and devise plans for improvements through the CameraMatics tracking system.
  4. Allocate jobs to the warehouse team throughout the day, considering each order individually and determining the most suitable vehicle, run, and logistics implications.
  5. Help deliver a next-day service to customers across the country.
  6. Maintain logistics operations while liaising with the warehouse and customer service teams to ensure the highest standards of service.
  7. Ensure shipping methods comply with rules, regulations, and laws, and coordinate and resolve transport-based claims and discrepancies.
Requirements:
  1. IT literacy is essential.
  2. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and interpret information effectively to continuously improve the department.
  3. A "can-do" attitude, flexibility, and the ability to react quickly to customer needs.
