Data Governance & Master Data Strategy Lead

CV-Library, a leading job search platform, is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance & Master Data Strategy Lead to join our team in Birmingham, West Midlands. As a key member of our data management team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and quality of our data assets.

About the Role:

We are looking for a seasoned data professional with expertise in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, leading data teams, and driving data quality initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to create and execute a data management strategy that aligns with our business objectives, ensuring that our data is well-structured, accurate, and easily accessible.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement data governance frameworks and policies to ensure data quality and compliance.
  2. Lead a team of data experts, providing guidance, mentoring, and promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  3. Monitor compliance with data standards, providing training and guidance as required.
  4. Identify business owners of key data and establish supporting data quality standards.
  5. Carry out data audits and apply corrective action to address data quality issues.
  6. Promote a culture of data-driven decision making, underpinned by clear, robust, and easily understandable data.
  7. Support strategic projects by being the subject matter expert for data requests and identifying and mitigating risks associated with change.
  8. Work with the IT team to ensure end-to-end technical solutions are robust and quality assured.
  9. Remain up to date with trends and new technologies and continually seek to optimise data management processes.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks.
  2. Excellent understanding of data cleansing techniques and data quality standards.
  3. Ability to clearly communicate complex data concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Proficiency in analysing complex data issues and creating effective solutions.
  5. Comfortable working within a team, cross-functionally, and able to self-motivate.
