Role Responsibilities:

We are looking for a talented and forward-thinking power electronics specialist to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the design, development, and optimization of power electronics systems specifically designed for low voltage, high current battery-operated applications.

This position will encompass various elements of high current DC power systems and related components, emphasizing efficiency, dependability, and performance.

Key Duties:

  • Design and develop power electronics systems to control, switch, and manage high power components within our systems.
  • Employ simulation tools for circuit analysis and optimization to ensure high efficiency and reliability.
  • Select appropriate components, including power semiconductors, passive components, and magnetics, while considering the specific requirements and constraints of our electrical systems.
  • Create multi-layer PCBs (6+) with a focus on thermal management, compactness, and manufacturability.
  • Prototype, assemble, and evaluate power electronics hardware, conducting thorough functional tests, reliability assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers, to integrate power electronics systems into our products.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of engineering practices and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing high current, high power electronics systems for battery-operated applications.
  • Proficiency in circuit simulation and analysis tools.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design and layout software (Altium Designer), with a focus on power electronics, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability.
  • Strong understanding of power semiconductor devices such as MOSFETs, IGBTs, and diodes.
  • Experience with thermal management techniques.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with digital control techniques for power electronics systems in battery-operated applications.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle (EV) powertrain systems and their associated power electronics components.
  • Experience working with 48V battery systems and motor control.
