Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a specialist in Head and Neck Oncology and Voice, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of adults with complex communication and swallowing disorders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' communication and swallowing abilities, develop and implement specialist speech and language therapy treatment plans, and discharge as appropriate.
  • Make differential diagnoses based on evidence from assessment and design appropriate treatment plans.
  • Develop clear care plans based on best evidence-based practice.
  • Provide specialist advice to colleagues in the multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitor and evaluate own highly specialist service delivery.
About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical expertise and experience in managing complex cases. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist advice and support to patients and colleagues.

Requirements
  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent.
  • Health and Care Professions Council Registration.
  • Post-graduate dysphagia accreditation or equivalent.
  • Relevant post-registration training in Head and Neck Oncology/ENT, including laryngectomy, tracheostomy, and FEES.
