Finance Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team at Nicholas Associates Group Limited in Loughborough. This is a full-time role with the potential to become permanent.

The successful candidate will support the Financial Controller in processing and troubleshooting various accounting functions and transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate customer master data
  • Produce and send customer statements of accounts
  • Ensure customer ledger accounts are up-to-date and correct
  • Advance payment re-classifications
  • Perform debt collection and dunning
  • Manage disputes and perform credit control
  • Prepare group reporting of trade receivables
  • Prepare individual bad debt provision and IFRS9
  • Complete month-end tasks and meet monthly Group deadlines
  • Assist with audits for Account Receivable and Accounts Payable
Internal Projects:
  • Continuous improvement of KPIs DPO, DSO
  • Improve credit control process and set-up in SAP
General & Administration:
  • Support the Finance team and Financial Controller in daily business and improvement of processes
  • Other ad-hoc tasks
  • Work within company policies and standards
  • Work within health and safety guidelines
  • Support and work within the company values and code of conduct

The ideal candidate will have a methodical and tidy approach to work, be flexible and adaptable, and have excellent computer skills. They will also be able to manage and prioritize their workload, be well-organized, and have a good work ethic. Experience and financial qualifications would be an advantage.
