Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with moderate learning difficulties and additional mental health needs.

About the Role:

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work in partnership with our teaching staff and therapists to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' learning, development, and well-being. You will make a real difference to the lives of the children, gaining vital experience which will enable you to kick-start your future career.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
  • Behaviour and pastoral support
  • Take an active role in forward planning with therapists
  • Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
  • Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures
  • Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD
Requirements:
  • Experience and desire to work with children with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Proactive approach
