Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our QuickFlange business unit in Aberdeen.

Main Purpose Of The Role:

To work within the operations team and deliver operational and project management/engineering support to the Quickflange business unit. Management of projects and operations ensuring the safe and profitable delivery of services.

Main Tasks:
  • Annual Budget and Objectives: Assist in the preparation and delivery of the Quickflange operational budget and objectives.
  • Technical and Operational Support: Provide technical and operational support in the compilation of quotes, proposals, and tenders.
  • Workshop Operations: Liaise with the Company Operations Manager to ensure all Quickflange related activities in the workshop are carried out to company standards and all equipment is mobilized on time.
  • Technician Management: Responsibility for any Quickflange Technicians working on site or at the Client's Site.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Manage all ad hoc projects and support the other business lines.
  • Workpack Preparation: Prepare workpacks, including implementation procedures, plans, engineering drawings, equipment lists, materials as required. Ensure that job briefings are carried out.
  • Engineering Team Liaison: Liaise with the Engineering team as and when required as per project requirements.
  • On-Site Support: Liaise with onsite technicians ensuring that work is progressing as per plan and support with all technical queries.
  • Competency Management: Ensure that the correct competencies of technicians are requested in accordance with job/project requirements.
  • Scope Variations: Manage scope variations ensuring that these are presented to the client in a timely manner and subsequently approved.
  • Project Cost Control: Monitoring and controlling of relevant project costs ensuring profit on projects are maximized.
  • Reporting: As and when required, compilation and issuing of final reports to the client.
  • Invoice Submission: Ensure that invoices raised are submitted to the client in a timely manner through the Operations Team.
  • Client Management: Support Sales personnel with client management and expectations.
  • Technical Procedures: Maintaining and improving the appropriate technical procedures and work instructions.
  • Business Development: Assist with the growth of ICR, supporting opportunities to the business and actively contributing to development and management meetings.
  • Company Processes: Ensure all company processes and procedures in accordance with BMS are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Satisfaction: Deliver all projects/scopes to the satisfaction of the client.
  • Project Optimization: Optimize project deliverables, schedule, and budgeting.
  • Operations Support: Support the Operations Manager/Business Unit Manager to ensure the QF department operations team have all the information they need to deliver the service to the client.
  • HSEQ Compliance: Compliance with all ICR HSEQ processes and standards.
Key Interactions/Interfaces:
  • Operations and Technical: Operations and Technical teams.
  • Regional Hubs and Partner Companies: Regional Hubs and Partner Companies.
  • Sales and Business Development: Sales and Business Development teams.

Mandatory Training Requirements:
  • Educational Qualifications: Educated to Degree level.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of Oil and Gas industry and particularly HSEQ requirements is essential.
  • Technical Background: Mechanical/Engineering background is essential.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrable track record at problem-solving and working to tight deadlines.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage and co-ordinate multiple projects to ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organisation and external contacts.
  • Verbal and Written Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in using a range of office software including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • SAP Experience: SAP experience preferred but not a necessity.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills.
  • Presentation Skills: Presentation skills for internal and external clients.
  • Report Writing Skills: Strong report writing skills.
