Job Description

Fugro is a leading provider of geo-data solutions, and we're seeking a highly skilled Survey Operations Engineer to join our Marine Geophysical team in Aberdeen. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and executing site surveys and investigations for marine development projects.

As a Survey Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the mobilization of survey and operational equipment, data acquisition and processing systems, and providing technical support to operations on our fleet of purpose-built survey vessels. You will work closely with our project managers, party chiefs, technical coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and coordinate the mobilization of survey and operational equipment, data acquisition and processing systems.
  2. Provide technical and operational support to survey vessels and participate in the technical support helpdesk.
  3. Oversee the preparation, maintenance, and testing of survey and operational equipment and systems.
  4. Actively review working processes and instructions to identify opportunities for improvement.
  5. Visit survey vessels in ports in the UK and Europe as required.

Please note that this position is open to hybrid working, but not to fully remote working. Occasional travel, including overseas, may be required.

Requirements:
  1. Degree qualified in a relevant field (MSC/BSc/BEng level or a Professional Engineering qualification).
  2. Previous offshore operational experience (geophysical, seismic, environmental, geotechnical, drilling, or similar).
  3. Self-starter, takes initiative, good communicator, excellent organizational skills, flexible, people-oriented, team player.
