Consultant Psychiatrist Position

The Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join their Sarum Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established multi-disciplinary team that prioritizes collaborative work and patient-centered practice.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat service users in the community, providing expert psychiatric advice and support.
- Undertake urgent and routine psychiatric assessments, working closely with GPs and other local services.
- Liaise with GPs regarding service users' medical monitoring results, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Provide advice and consultation to members of the multi-disciplinary team, attending regular MDT meetings and contributing to clinical decision-making.
- Ensure timely and effective documentation of clinical decisions and management plans, maintaining high standards of record-keeping.

Requirements- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Approved clinician status or ability to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
- Experience of assessing and treating patients in a community setting.
- Leadership skills, ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, and excellent communication skills.
