Job Description

**Job Title:** Head of Finance

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Finance to join our team at Greenwell Gleeson Ltd. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading our finance function and playing a critical role in the success of our business.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Lead the Finance Function:** Oversee the control and administration of all finance functions, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and policies.
  • **ERP Implementation:** Be an integral part of the ERP systems implementation team, driving the successful implementation of our new financial systems.
  • **Financial Planning and Analysis:** Prepare monthly management accounts, compile the budget and other financial plans, and provide timely advice and explanation of any variances to budget or forecast.
  • **Financial Reporting:** Prepare year-end financial accounts and associated audit and taxation packs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • **Cash Flow Management:** Control cash flow within defined parameters, ensuring the smooth operation of our business.
  • **Information Technology:** Oversee the information technology function, including the development and maintenance of computer systems.
  • **Credit and Debt Management:** Monitor and control customer credit limits, debt insurance, and debt collection.
  • **Stock Management:** Prepare and control stocktakes, providing timely and accurate results.
  • **Performance Metrics:** Monitor, measure, and achieve the finance department's KPIs.
  • **Internal Controls:** Introduce, monitor, and maintain internal control procedures in line with best practice and Group policy.

**Requirements:**

  • **Qualifications:** Be a qualified Accountant (preferably ACA).
  • **Experience:** Have at least three years post-qualifying professional or industrial experience.
  • **Skills:** Be computer literate with good systems knowledge and experience, and have a demonstrable record of achievement in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls.
  • **Communication:** Be able to influence and support good decision making in the senior management team via preparation of quality analysis, knowledgeable interpretation, and communication of data.
  • **Teamwork:** Be a good communicator across all disciplines within the business, the wider Group, and externally.
  • **Innovation:** Supportive of innovation and adept at change management.
