Role Overview

Corndel is at a pivotal stage in its development and is seeking a permanent IT Director to spearhead, refine, and oversee our IT Strategy, infrastructure, governance, and support services to facilitate the next phase of growth for the organization.

Currently, we have a compact IT support and infrastructure team, with designated data governance and application owners distributed across various departments within the organization.

The IT Director will bear overall accountability for IT strategy, governance, and operational efficiency, ensuring these elements are appropriate and that we maintain a cohesive approach to IT management throughout the organization.

Role Scope

The primary focus of this role encompasses IT and technological requirements that support the management of our operations and back-office functions, including systems such as Microsoft Suite, Operational, HR, and Finance.

Development of technology for learning solutions falls under our Product Development team. However, once new learning technologies are approved and implemented as part of our product evolution, the ongoing management and internal IT support for these tools will transition to the IT function, under the IT Director's purview.

This transition will facilitate the integration of these tools, ensuring governance and IT security oversight are maintained. Consequently, the Head of Information Technology will play a crucial role in the implementation of new or enhanced learning technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Evaluation - Assess business needs and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of existing infrastructure, solutions, and operations.
  • Formulate and establish our IT strategy and change plan – encompassing both transformational and tactical approaches to address needs and challenges.
  • Stay informed about trends, developments, and changes in the IT landscape, creating impact assessments, plans, and recommendations to respond effectively.
  • Lead, manage, and inspire a high-performing and inclusive IT team.
  • Deliver a reliable and efficient IT Support Service.
  • Evolve our IT policies, processes, and guidelines to support governance, integration, and effective decision-making.
  • Safeguard the business and its data, ensuring compliance with Corndel's responsibilities for data governance and security.
  • Optimize the efficiency of our IT operations, ensuring effective planning and budgetary controls are in place.
  • Manage relationships with third-party agents and suppliers that support our IT systems and infrastructure.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Head of IT or IT Director within a growing online enterprise, ideally with a background in developing strategies and plans to evolve, integrate, and scale technologies to support business growth.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, preferably with recognized external certification in IT/information security.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT management and leadership roles, with a track record of building and developing high-performance teams and individuals.
  • Previous success in delivering IT projects and managing change effectively.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
