Consultant Oncologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Oncologist to join our team at Ipswich Hospital, part of the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for patients with Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer, Cancer of the Unknown Primary, and will contribute to the Acute Oncology Service.
Main DutiesThe post holder will be responsible for:
- Organising and supervising the teaching of junior medical staff and students in the department.
- Supporting and fostering research, audit, and teaching in conjunction with consultant colleagues.
- Sharing administrative duties associated with the running of an effective department, including defining policy and guiding practitioners.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team within the Oncology department, working closely with consultant colleagues to provide high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have:
- FRCR or European equivalent if Clinical Oncologist.
- MRCP or equivalent if Medical Oncologist.
- Registration in the Specialist Register for Oncology.
- Full GMC registration.
