Financial Administrator and Credit Controller

MECAL Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Financial Administrator and Credit Controller to join our team in Plymouth. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in the financial operations of the company.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and bank reconciliations using Xero and Dext software.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Assist with payroll processing and related financial duties as required.
- Work to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency.
- Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments and ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
- Communicate with clients via phone, email, and letter to follow up on unpaid invoices and resolve any payment issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities and correspondence with clients.
- Reconcile customer accounts and handle any discrepancies or disputes related to invoices.
- Prepare and present regular reports on debtor balances, credit status, and cash flow forecasts to senior management.
- Proven experience in a similar financial administration and credit control role.
- Proficiency in using Xero and Dext accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and credit control practices.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle sensitive financial matters professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with database systems and data entry.
