We are seeking an experienced materials scientist to join our team at NPL, a world-renowned scientific research organization. As a Senior Research Scientist, you will play a key role in delivering our National Measurement System (NMS) funded research programme, focusing on developing a metrology infrastructure for polymer composites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to develop and implement new test methods and measurement techniques for polymer composite materials.
  • Deliver high-quality research projects, including the development of metrology infrastructure for energy efficient manufacturing processes, circularity of materials, and high-value products.
  • Work with external customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of scientific reports, peer-reviewed papers, and conference presentations.
  • Participate in the development of standardised testing procedures and bespoke mechanical testing techniques for the laboratory.
