Job Title: Bank Chef

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Bank Chef to join our team at Barchester Healthcare. As a Bank Chef, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh seasonal food, maintain a better work-life balance, and make a meaningful contribution to our residents' well-being.

About the Role:

As a Bank Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus while working closely with residents to tailor the menus to their preferences. You will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks, and you will be part of a team that is committed to delivering high-quality person-centred hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Chef in creating menus and managing the kitchen in their absence
  • Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes cooked at the highest standards
  • Help create a warm, efficient, and fun environment in the kitchen
  • Manage stock control and work within budget
  • Assist in leading and motivating a team
Requirements:
  • A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
  • Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
  • Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
  • A good understanding of nutrition
  • Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
  • The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
  • Good understanding of HACCP
