Our Locations:
We operate Regional Centres in various locations, with Senior Charge Nurse positions available in our Lumina Contact Centre.
Role Overview:
- Provide clinical and professional guidance to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Be accountable for the effective execution of individual performance management, mentorship, and preceptorship, ensuring adherence to clinical governance processes in line with NHS 24 policies.
- Deliver effective leadership and management to the multidisciplinary team to meet NHS 24's organizational performance targets.
- Assume delegated responsibilities for managing the virtual NHS 24 service and monitoring operational environments in the absence of a Clinical Services Manager (CSM).
- Ensure the provision of safe, effective, and patient-centered care, offering clinical and managerial leadership to support the Leading Better Care (LBC) objectives:
- Guarantee safe and effective clinical practices.
- Enhance patient experiences of care.
- Contribute to achieving organizational goals.
- Engage in the recruitment of frontline staff.
- Participate in relevant research and development initiatives.
Candidate Profile:
- First-level nursing qualification (relevant part of NMC Register) with a first degree or evidence of continuing professional development equivalent to level nine of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
- Extensive post-registration experience, ideally across two healthcare settings; experience in unscheduled care is advantageous.
- Demonstrated skills and competencies associated with post-registration experience, showcasing expert clinical and professional practice.
- Knowledge of pertinent NHS/Healthcare national and local standards, drivers, and challenges affecting the area of work.
- Ability to maintain professional credibility across all staff groups.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire teams and drive change through continuous professional development.
- Personal motivation and enthusiasm for advancing nursing, patient care, and enhancing patient experiences.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data for effective resource planning.
Working Patterns:
This position offers a shift pattern of 37 hours, with a fixed-term or secondment contract.
Compensation Package:
NHS 24 provides a comprehensive benefits package, with a temporary contract on Band 7 ranging from £46,244 to £53,789 (pro rata for part-time hours).
Additional salary enhancements for unsocial hours are applicable, resulting in the following hourly rates:
- Basic Hourly Rate: £23.65
- Saturday / After 8 PM Weekday Hourly Rate: £30.75
- Sunday / Public Holiday Hourly Rate: £37.84
