The Role: Deputy SEN Coordinator

We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as a Deputy Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo). In this vital role, you will play a key part in supporting students with diverse learning needs and ensuring they receive the individualized attention and resources they require to succeed.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on inclusive teaching practices and strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Coordinate and monitor the provision of specialist support services for students with SEN, including speech therapy, occupational therapy, and educational psychology.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student assessments, IEPs, and interventions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide policies and procedures related to SEN.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • A strong understanding of the legal framework surrounding SEN, including the Equality Act 2010 and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience in working with students with a range of SEN, including learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, and medical conditions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and ensuring all students have access to high-quality education.
