Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of year-end financial statements, including the development of all working paper schedules to draft a comprehensive set of financial statements for managerial review, followed by final adjustments prior to sign-off (the majority of clients are limited companies).
- Compilation of business tax returns based on the aforementioned financial statements.- Preparation of self-assessment tax returns for a diverse clientele.
- Opportunity to engage in various ad hoc tasks as needed, which may include handling HMRC forms for international tours, reconciling figures against tour budgets, or calculating commission for managers.
- Utilizing bank statements to record additional transactions, leading to the reconciliation of bank accounts within the accounting software.- Management of foreign currency transactions, potentially involving multiple bank accounts for reconciliation.
- General client communication to request necessary records and address day-to-day inquiries and provide client advice as required.
- Preparation of quarterly VAT Returns for managerial review.
- Assisting in the training and development of junior staff members in the office.
Desired Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a practice environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software is essential (preferably Iris, Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks) and a strong command of spreadsheets/Excel.
