Senior Financial Accountant

Sanctuary Group is a leading provider of housing, care, and commercial services in the UK. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Worcester.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a qualified accountant with experience in statutory financial reporting and technical accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, group consolidation, and statutory accounting adjustments. They will also produce financial performance information for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation of annual reports and financial statements for group subsidiaries
- Production of financial performance information and analysis for senior management, subsidiary board members, investors, and other stakeholders
- Liaising with external audit teams and colleagues across finance to ensure the completion of the external audit process and sign-off of subsidiary financial statements
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure high standards of customer care
- Maintenance, accuracy, and completeness of financial records
- Assisting with the review, development, implementation, and maintenance of financial controls
- Providing technical and financial accounting expertise, including assessing the impact of implementing new accounting standards or other new reporting requirements
- Preparation of accounting papers for senior management and auditors detailing the accounting impacts of significant one-off transactions
- Demonstrable previous experience in a statutory reporting role
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
- Comprehensive knowledge of reporting under IFRS, FRS101, and FRS102 accounting standards
- Experience of dealing with external statutory audits
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand and manage complex accounting and reporting activities
- Skilled at building rapport and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including senior management
- Experience in the use of financial systems and Office applications

Role salary is £43,325 with an additional policy allowance of £4,765 per annum (rising to £45,605 with an additional policy allowance of £5,016 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance). If qualified Accountant role salary is £43,325 with an additional policy allowance of £11,264 per annum (rising to £45,605 with an additional policy allowance of £11,857 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance).
