Role Summary

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Direct the implementation of a large-scale nuclear new build project, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Establish and uphold effective project governance, including supervision of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
Strategic Planning
- Formulate and execute a detailed project plan, encompassing scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management strategies.
- Guarantee that the project is completed on schedule, within budget, and adheres to the highest quality benchmarks.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders, including government entities, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal teams.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure their expectations are met or surpassed.
Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure all project activities conform to national and international nuclear safety regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Risk Mitigation
- Identify, evaluate, and manage project risks, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues before they affect the project.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and modify the project plan as required.
Resource Allocation
- Distribute and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to enhance project performance.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers, managers, and support personnel.
Financial Management
- Develop and oversee the project budget, ensuring precise forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Monitor financial performance and implement corrective measures as necessary to keep the project within financial targets.
Quality Control
- Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure all project components meet or exceed industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to confirm compliance with quality and safety regulations.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring that all project activities prioritize the health and safety of personnel and environmental protection.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, leading incident investigations as necessary.
Project Reporting
- Provide regular updates on project status to senior management and stakeholders, including progress reports, financial summaries, and risk evaluations.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project reports for board meetings and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Chartered Engineer (CEng)) is preferred.
- Experience in New Build EPC projects utilizing a staged gate / RIBA approach.
- Background in the nuclear sector is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in leading multi-partner teams is desirable.
Experience: A minimum of 15 years in project management within the nuclear or energy sectors, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale EPC projects.
