About the Role

Orion Electrotech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead our growing design team and drive innovation in the avionics industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Oversee mechanical design projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality designs.
  • Team Management: Mentor and guide a small team of mechanical design engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Design Development: Conduct thorough feasibility studies, simulations, and analyses to validate design concepts, and create comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using advanced CAD software.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the prototyping, testing, and iteration processes, ensuring designs meet stringent performance and safety standards.
  • Design Reviews: Facilitate design reviews and provide strategic input on design enhancements and new technologies.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in avionics and mechanical design, integrating best practices into the team's workflow.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in mechanical design, particularly within the avionics industry.
  • Skills: Proven track record of leading design projects, strong proficiency in CAD software, excellent understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes relevant to avionics.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers, strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
