Student Engagement Officer

At Solihull College & University Centre, we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Student Enrichment Team as a Student Engagement Officer.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the College community by inspiring and supporting our learners, fostering a sense of responsibility and belonging, and enhancing their overall college experience.
As a Student Engagement Officer, you will create a highly visible presence in student spaces and encourage, support, and lead by example in alignment with the College's core values.
You will be responsible for overseeing student social areas and will be responsible for planning, organising and facilitating a range of activities that positively engage the student body.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, enthusiastic and passionate about working with a diverse range of students and confident to deal with any behaviour issues in a positive and supportive way.
The Student Enrichment Team provides a dynamic and student-focussed service, and the successful candidate will need to have the ability to build positive relationships with students and advocate their views, opinions and needs.
As well as provide pastoral support and advice to ensure that all students have access to a safe, secure and shared college environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing student engagement strategies to enhance the student experience
- Providing pastoral support and advice to students
- Building positive relationships with students and advocating their views and needs
- Overseeing student social areas and planning activities to engage the student body
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent
- Experience of motivating, inspiring and engaging with young adults
- Experience of working within a further or higher education environment (desirable)
