Payroll Onboarding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Onboarding Consultant to join our team at Portfolio Payroll Limited. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless transition for our clients from their current payroll provider.
Your primary focus will be on planning and executing customer onboarding projects for payroll, ensuring timely completion and adherence to our service level agreements. You will work closely with our clients to explain the onboarding process, provide regular project updates, and ensure data migration documents are completed accurately.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Effective planning and execution of customer onboarding projects for payroll.
- Ensuring accurate balancing of payroll onboarding data, including static data, cumulative year-to-date balances, and comparisons to previous Full Payment Submission files.
- Explaining the onboarding process to clients through regular project sessions and timely update meetings.
- Ensuring data migration documents are completed correctly and thoroughly checked during the gathering and loading processes.
- Assisting with processing of parallel runs and ensuring all run results balance with the client's previous payroll provider.
- Managing a portfolio of projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks based on client and business needs.
- Maintaining client confidentiality and providing excellent customer service.
- Ensuring adherence to our Payroll onboarding SLA at all times.
- Managing clients to supply all necessary data in a timely fashion to meet the agreed go-live date.
- Meeting Key Performance Indicators and documenting key reasons for project slippage with transparency of reasons and any additional cost implications.
We are looking for an individual with previous customer onboarding experience within a payroll or finance-related role, with demonstrable experience of onboarding principles such as data loads, reconciliation, parallel runs, and go-live authority. An awareness of UK payroll legislation and tax regulations is essential. Previous experience in SaaS platforms and an awareness of HR and payroll systems and how they work are desirable. Light-touch project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also required.
