Join Our Team as a Children's Law Solicitor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Children's Law Solicitor to join our team at Duncan Lewis. As a leading law firm, we are committed to providing exceptional legal services to our clients, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for delivering high-quality work.

About the Role

We are looking for a solicitor with a strong background in child care law to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members, assisting with the delivery of training and development in the department, and dealing with a range of public and private children cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • Assist with the delivery of training and development in the department
  • Deal with a range of public and private children cases, including child abduction, child protection issues, special guardianship, and adoption matters
  • Undertake your own advocacy
  • Registered with the Law Society and Children Panel Membership is desirable
  • Previous proven supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators
Requirements
  • Excellent client care skills and ability to deal with vulnerable clients and resolve complicated practicalities involved in child care issues
  • Excellent networking and communication skills with the ability to successfully market the Company and generate new business
  • Working knowledge of the publicly funded Child Care work and have the ability to service privately funded cases
  • Have extensive experience in dealing with all Child Care work related work and some expertise on adoption matters
  • Experience in own advocacy is an advantage
  • Excellent IT Skills - familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills

Accreditation Support

We will support your career progression if you decide to pursue Children, Family, or Family Advanced Panel accreditation with the Law Society or Resolution. This includes attending the mandatory training course, annual membership fee, and reaccreditation fees.

Moving forward, we are looking to offer all new Children, Family, Family Advanced, and Resolution Panel members a base salary of £[salary]. This salary will apply from the date you are registered as a panel member/accredited with the Law Society. Advancement of the above fees will be subject to our terms and conditions in the contract of employment/accreditation agreement.
