Job Description

Scott Aerospace Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join our team in Bristol. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in driving the company's strategic sourcing initiatives and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration on day-to-day procurement activities.
  • Assist the procurement team in managing the day-to-day procurement operations, including supplier performance, risk, escalation, and improvement initiatives.
  • Accountable for successful supplier performance management using vendor scorecards and supporting the team in dealing with key suppliers to provide performance improvements as required.
  • Prepare and present reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities through effective procurement strategies and negotiations.
  • Support the procurement manager in the tendering and sourcing process, ensuring alignment with agreed project deliverables.
  • Confidently negotiate and agree terms and conditions, and contractual agreements, including the flow-down and management of KPIs.
  • Attend supplier and customer meetings, and engagements, both on-site and off-site.
  • Ownership of procurement master data within our systems, ensuring the accuracy of this data.
  • Manage and mentor a team of junior buyers and deputise for the Procurement Manager as required.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in an engineering and/or defence environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • MCIPS/CIPS desirable but not essential.
  • Comfortable with flexible working arrangements, including 4 days in the office and 1 day at home.
  • Proven track record of identifying and delivering procurement savings.
  • Experience of managing, driving, and developing supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
