About the Role

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our team as Director of Infrastructure. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our estate and ensuring that our facilities meet the needs of our patients, staff, and partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the overall estate strategy for the Trust, including the effective delivery of capital project management.
  • Ensure efficient and effective day-to-day management of the estate, including the major PFI contracts at three of our hospital sites.
  • Lead on long-term planning across multiple sites and sectors, and project manage capital works programmes within a public sector environment.
  • Manage complex estates and capital projects on time and in budget, and lead multi-agency projects to deliver project outcomes using effective communication.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, fire safety standards, and other relevant legislation.
Requirements
  • Senior level experience of leading Estates/Facilities Management functions in a complex organisation.
  • Experience in leading and managing a multidisciplinary team, including objective setting and performance management.
  • Ability to manage complex estates and capital projects on time and in budget.
  • Persuasion/negotiating/interpersonal skills, particularly when building teams.
  • Understanding of managing the development of a new hospital or similar scale project.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or professional equivalent.
