Head of Estates - Poundland & Dealz

About the Role:

Poundland & Dealz is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Head of Estates to lead and manage our growing property portfolio across the UK and Ireland. As a key member of our Property team, you will be responsible for driving the estate management strategy, ensuring cost efficiency, and supporting our business growth and expansion plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the estate strategy to support Poundland & Dealz's growth.
  • Oversee site selection, development, and management of new store locations, from planning through to opening.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements related to property management.
  • Prepare and oversee the estate's budget, providing accurate financial forecasting and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Estates team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and legal, and provide regular reports to senior management on the performance and status of the property portfolio.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Estate Management, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field (Professional qualifications such as MRICS or FRICS are highly desirable).
  • 8-10 years of experience in estate management, preferably within the retail sector.
  • Expertise in commercial real estate, including lease negotiation, property law, and financial analysis.
  • Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and conducting financial forecasting.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to property management, along with sustainability practices in real estate.
