Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team at a prestigious private hospital in Wellingborough, specializing in neurological rehabilitation. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive and individualized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough mental health assessments and evaluations to inform treatment plans.
  2. Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans to ensure patient-centered care.
  3. Administer medications and monitor their effects to ensure patient safety.
  4. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families to promote mental well-being.
  5. Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed to ensure patient safety.
  6. Clinical Duties
  7. Monitor patients' progress and report any changes to the medical team to ensure continuity of care.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  9. Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
  10. Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  11. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and hospital policies to maintain a safe and effective work environment.
  12. Support and Education
  13. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options to promote informed decision-making.
  14. Promote mental health awareness and advocate for patients' needs to ensure their voices are heard.
  15. Provide mentorship and support to junior nursing staff and nursing students to enhance their skills and confidence.
  16. Professional Development
  17. Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
  18. Attend training sessions, workshops, and seminars relevant to mental health nursing to stay up-to-date with best practices.
Qualifications
  1. Education: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification.
  2. Licensure: Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.
  3. Experience: Previous experience in a mental health setting is essential.
  4. Skills:
  5. Strong clinical and assessment skills.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a team.
  8. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  9. Empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care.
Working Conditions
