The Opportunity

We are seeking an EHS Specialist to assist our Skipton Site EHS Manager in the implementation of new and amended Health & Safety Policies, Procedures, and Standards to ensure effective deployment across site. The successful candidate will help to develop and continually improve site processes working alongside the EHS Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the rollout of Group Health & Safety Policies and Procedures at site level across all departments, including COSHH, Engineering & Process Safety.
  • Manage, maintain, and develop site safety procedures and standards.
  • Develop and organize EHS documentation and processes in preparation for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
  • Carry out regular safety training and maintain matrices across all departments.
  • Provide regular performance reports to the EHS Manager to determine weekly/monthly progress on the annual safety strategy.
  • Work alongside health and safety reps to develop and coach departmental safety on site and enhance site safety culture.
  • Assist in driving environmental improvement activities to reduce the site's environmental impact on air, water, and land.
  • Support in day-to-day H&S & Facilities activities where required.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Cert/Diploma or Degree from an OHS discipline.
  • ISO 14001 & 45001 Internal Auditor trained.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Target-driven.
  • Quality-minded.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience in carrying out risk assessments.
  • Thorough understanding of COSHH Regulations & Best practice.
  • Fundamental knowledge of UK H&S Legislation & HSE Regulations.
  • Practical experience in an operational environment required.
