Nursery Room Leader Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nursery Room Leader to join our team at Ultimate Outsourcing LTD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Practitioners to ensure the smooth operation of the designated Nursery room, providing a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Plan, prepare, and participate in a range of activities aligned with the EYFS Framework, promoting each child's physical, intellectual, and emotional development.
  • Implement activities that foster linguistic and social interaction between children and their carers, supporting the development of positive relationships.
  • Support the Nursery Practitioners and students in the implementation and evaluation of children's planning and progress, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Be a key worker for a group of children, observing, monitoring, and recording their development, and completing Tapestry entries to capture their progress.
  • Attend staff training, meetings, parents' evenings, and open days as required, maintaining open communication with parents and carers.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers about the day-to-day needs of the children, fostering parental involvement and encouraging positive parenting skills.
  • Ensure the nursery meets safety and hygiene requirements, reporting any issues to senior staff members, and contributing to the development of a cleaning rota.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, assisting where needed, and undertaking domestic jobs within the nursery as required.
  • Maintain records and documentation that comply with statutory requirements, supporting the nursery practitioners in the completion of such documents.
Requirements:
  • Recent experience of working in a care/education early years setting.
  • Experience of planning, short, medium, and long-term plans in an early years setting to meet the needs of individual children and groups.
  • Knowledge/experience of meeting the needs of children and families.
  • Ability to build relationships with children and their families.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of working with children with special educational needs.
