Job Title: Service Technician-Escalators

We are seeking a skilled Service Technician-Escalators to join our team at Schindler Group. As a Service Technician-Escalators, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of lift and escalator equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine servicing of lift and escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components.
  • Rectify and reduce faults on lift and escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Check the lift and escalator function as part of maintenance, including speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature, and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.
  • Carry out the routine inspection and adjustment of lift and escalator in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift and escalator and complete service documentation.
  • Carry out more advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals, and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
  • Work in accordance with the Company's Safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements, as well as setting a personal example of safe behaviour.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience in Lift/Escalator Servicing/Maintenance/Repairs preferred.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent.
  • Willingness to Work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red.
  • Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines, and within efficiencies.
  • The ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
  • Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors).
  • Manual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
  • Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good administration skills and punctuality.
  • Full UK driving License.
