Job Title: Junior Software Engineer Embedded

We are seeking a talented Junior Software Engineer to join our team in Cardiff. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electronic control and communication systems for our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop software for new products and enhance existing ones.
  • Undertake diagnostics to identify problem root causes and implement fixes.
  • Work collaboratively with the team on projects from start to completion, providing expert input into new feature development.
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure existing product ranges remain compliant and up-to-date.
  • Ongoing review and optimisation of software designs to identify cost savings and performance improvements.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience of designing, analysing, and developing embedded systems.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype embedded boards for development.
  • Innovative thinking with effective communication of new ideas.
  • Strong IT skills with experience of C programming and assembler.
  • Experience in serial protocols and ADC techniques.
  • Experience of code porting between different microcontroller architectures.
  • Able to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
  • Experience of RF comms functionality.
  • Experience of Modbus protocol.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux development environments.
  • Experience of Embedded Wizard.
