Wood is currently seeking expressions of interest for upcoming projects.

We are looking for experienced Senior, Principal, and Lead Instrument & Control Engineers to join our team on a contract basis for an offshore project.

In this position, you will play a crucial role in executing project tasks in alignment with the Discipline Design Instructions, adhering to Wood and/or Project Procedures concerning Safety and Quality Control, while maintaining man-hour, cost budgets, and project schedule targets.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong drive and the ability to work autonomously. You should be confident in your capability to deliver the Control and Instrumentation scope of a project punctually and within budget, while effectively collaborating with other execution centers globally.

Key Qualifications:

  • BSc in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in instrumentation and control engineering within the oil, gas, or petrochemical sectors.
  • Project experience in Gas Plants, Refineries, etc., is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of basic instrumentation and control, including flow, level, pressure, temperature, and process analysis.
  • Proven experience in instrument selection related to process applications.
  • Solid understanding of boiler control, process heater control, and process furnace control in accordance with project requirements.
  • Familiarity with materials and material selection for inline instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems for instrumentation, including cabling, wiring methods, grounding, materials, and control circuits, along with hazardous area design implementation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of national and international standards, particularly those related to ISA, ANSI, ASME, API, NFPA, and IEC.
  • Field experience in oil, gas, or petrochemical industries with diverse instrument and control installations, including experience during plant construction, commissioning, start-up, or operations.
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), along with Foundation Fieldbus expertise.
  • Familiarity with selected project vendor's Project Control System (PCS) and Final Acceptance Test (FAT).
  • Proficient in office and technical software applications.
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
