Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

At GSL Education, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to develop and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to support the social and emotional development of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to address specific needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour support plans.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role is advantageous.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Knowledge of relevant SEMH strategies and interventions.
