Brief Description

We're seeking a Senior Network Delivery Manager to join our team at the York Rail Operating Centre. As a key member of our control centre, you'll be responsible for leading our day-to-day operations, assuming the role of Strategic Lead (Rail Incident Commander) in high-profile incidents. Your key objectives will include senior stakeholder management, liaison with the National Operating Centre, and working with the off-shift senior leadership team to continuously improve our performance within the control.

About the Role

Essential

  • Extensive experience in railway operations, with a strong background in command and control.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing large teams within a control, logistics, or operations environment.
  • Strategic decision-making skills, with the ability to negotiate and make objective decisions.
  • Effective conflict management, with the ability to influence others and work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Network Rail and Train Operating Companies within the Route, as well as operational rules and regulations.
  • Good geographical knowledge of applicable Routes.

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Controller or Senior Controller.
  • Level 1 investigator qualification.
  • Controllers assessor qualification.
  • Rail Incident Commander qualification and experience.
  • Tactical Incident Commander qualification and experience.
