We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Vision Sciences to join our esteemed Department of Vision Sciences, part of the School of Health & Life Sciences. This department is recognized for its excellence in teaching and applied research, offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including a Master of Optometry with Independent Prescribing, BSc(Hons) Orthoptics, and BSc Ophthalmic Dispensing Management.
The unique structure of our programs allows for a collaborative teaching approach and inter-professional training among eye care professionals. Our curriculum is supported by robust research initiatives and includes extensive practical and clinical experiences both on-campus and in external settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across various modules.
- Supervise students and enhance their learning experiences.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the curriculum in alignment with current industry standards.
- Engage in scholarly activities that support the department's reputation in Vision Sciences.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods, including e-learning and online environments.
As a Lecturer, you will be expected to hold a BSc (Hons) in Optometry or Orthoptics, be registered with the appropriate professional bodies, or possess a PhD in a relevant field. Experience in supporting student learning in Vision Sciences and relevant industry experience is essential.
