Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pet Food Formulation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and launching new pet food products, as well as ensuring the nutritional quality and regulatory compliance of our existing products.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development
- Create technical dossiers to support marketing claims for our pet food products.
- Conduct research and present key pet nutritional and health trends to the development and marketing teams.
- Manage nutritional testing and recipe modifications to ensure nutritional and regulatory compliance.
- Build relationships with ingredient suppliers and identify opportunities for innovative ingredients.
- Formulate recipes and conduct production trials for new product development projects.
- Marketing Support
- Support the creation of social media and communications guidelines for our brands, providing advice on product claims and Q&A's.
- Research, write, and edit nutritional blogs, articles, and press releases.
- Provide input and approve pack copy documents and artworks for nutritional and labeling compliance.
- Attend events, trade shows, and seminars to stay up-to-date on industry trends.
- Sales Support
- Provide training and education for staff and trade customers on pet nutrition and product features.
- Present at conferences and events to promote our products.
- Provide nutritional support to consumers via email and telephone.
- Assist the Customer Service team with product-related queries.
- Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Nutrition or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and launching successful pet food products.
- Deep understanding of animal physiology, nutritional needs, and ingredient functionalities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
