Job Summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Clinical Oncologist to join our team. As a key member of our Cancer Business Unit, you will play a vital role in providing a comprehensive service for the people of Southern Derbyshire and East Staffordshire.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing a comprehensive service in Oncology with consultant colleagues, including new patient and follow-up clinics at Derby and Burton.
  • Providing emergency cover and reciprocal cover for consultant colleagues during reasonable periods of leave, on a shared basis.
  • Caring for patients in their charge and ensuring the proper functioning of the Department.
  • Undertaking teaching/training duties as required and actively participating in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching programmes.
  • Participating in clinical and medical audit and actively contributing to departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance.
  • Actively participating in continuing medical education (CME).
