About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team at Michael Page Procurement & Supply Chain. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting our client in Oxfordshire with their strategic negotiations and contracts to reduce risk and create value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Negotiations: Support our client in negotiating contracts with suppliers to reduce risk and create value.
  • Category Management: Manage allocated categories and associated suppliers, including tracking of their performance.
  • Cost Savings Initiatives: Identify, manage, and deliver a pipeline of cost reduction and sustainability initiatives with site Procurement and Operational teams.
  • Collaboration: Work with the Purchasing Manager, and other procurement teams and suppliers to deliver cost out initiatives and projects across the sites.
Requirements
  • Experience: Have experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments, ideally in FMCG and food.
  • Procurement Expertise: Have experience of strategic procurement, ideally working with global suppliers (UK, EU, Far East, America).
  • Leadership: Be a go-getter, willing to challenge the norm in a constructive way.
  • Communication: Be able to take your procurement career in-depth and discuss the challenges faced, as well as your procurement project work, including cost savings and achievements made.
