The Financial Services Disputes and Investigations (FSDI) Team

Our FSDI team is one of the few outside London specializing in contentious work for financial services providers. We have a dedicated network of over 300 financial services lawyers across the UK, enabling us to offer expert legal solutions to our clients.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Contract Paralegal to join our FSDI team on an initial 3-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in banking litigation matters, working alongside experienced lawyers and supporting a diverse range of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with legal tasks supporting the FSDI team, including:
  • Taking instructions and liaising with clients
  • Managing a caseload of banking litigation matters (Fast-track claims)
  • Supporting other fee earners on various cases
  • Managing financial outputs and billing responsibilities
  • Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and graphic-based analysis for reporting purposes, assisting with internal and external/client reporting requirements and production of management information.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Law degree or completion of the law conversion course
  • 6 months of Legal Assistant / Paralegal experience
  • Experience in contentious/non-contentious matters within our key business areas
  • Background in commercial or financial litigation is preferable
  • Accuracy, strong organizational skills, and flexibility with excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, work under pressure, and prioritize tasks from various stakeholders
  • High standards of client service are essential
  • Proficiency in Word and Outlook is required; experience in Excel and PowerPoint would be beneficial
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
