ROLE OVERVIEW
The Admissions Operations team is pivotal in ensuring that Generation UK & Ireland's programs commence with a diverse and enthusiastic cohort of learners who will gain the most from our training initiatives. These skills development programs are vital for bridging skill gaps and addressing disparities in underrepresented sectors. Generation is dedicated to providing high-quality training, empowering our learners with the skills and confidence necessary for transformative careers.

The Admissions Operations Manager oversees the conversion of qualified applicants into learners, managing our comprehensive digital recruitment processes, and ensuring that conversions align with the charity's mission and funding stipulations. The primary objective is to recruit learners who will derive the maximum benefit from our programs.

ABOUT GENERATION

As a UK registered charity, established by McKinsey and Company, we deliver tailored programs to recruit, train, and place unemployed individuals into employment. Our unique approach also addresses various employer challenges, including talent shortages, job performance issues, lack of diversity, and high turnover rates.

Since launching globally in 2015, Generation has rapidly become the world's largest demand-led employment initiative, successfully placing over 80,000 individuals into roles while collaborating with over 4,000 employer partners across 16 countries and 26 professions.

Generation UK&I is currently executing training-to-employment programs in various regions, running a range of tech bootcamps in partnership with organizations such as The Prince's Trust, Amazon Web Services, Multiverse, and Infinity Works, as well as programs aimed at healthcare, the Green sector, and customer service roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Admissions and Selection
    • Provide comprehensive support to applicants throughout the application and selection process, ensuring an exceptional experience for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Organize and conduct engaging sessions at critical touchpoints with applicants, including online presentations and group tasks.
    • Manage multiple cohorts simultaneously, overseeing the entire recruitment process from design to onboarding.
    • Collaborate with Learning and Partnerships teams to select candidates for each cohort, balancing the needs of learners and funders.
    • Utilize data to assess and forecast cohort viability, ensuring proactive communication and problem-solving.
    • Deliver Admissions Operations processes in person as required by new programs and stakeholders.
  2. Operations
    • Contribute to quarterly and annual operational planning.
    • Work with the Head of Admissions Operations to enhance systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement.
    • Share responsibility for implementing operational tasks, including building application portals and onboarding candidates.
    • Utilize various tools to track and monitor each cohort, ensuring data is effectively managed.
  3. Reporting and Evaluation
    • Collaborate with leadership to report data required by funding partners.
    • Analyze feedback from learners and partners to improve processes and overall learner experience.
    • Enhance understanding of employment barriers faced by diverse groups and adapt delivery models accordingly.
