We're seeking a passionate individual who thrives on both technical innovation and a deep understanding of microbiology.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Translate complex scientific goals into well-defined, actionable problems.
  • Collaborate closely with laboratory scientists to optimize experiments, ensure data quality, and guide research direction.
  • Employ statistical techniques to design efficient experiments and analyze results effectively.
  • Work hand-in-hand with bioinformaticians to prepare omics data for machine learning model development.
  • Lead the research and development of cutting-edge machine learning methodologies for modeling microbial communities and identifying key microorganisms.
  • Develop predictive models to accelerate the discovery of novel microbes, guide their cultivation, and stimulate metabolite production.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of our software platform, which is crucial for managing data flow and accessibility. Our primary tools include MySQL, SQLAlchemy, Python for data science, and a bespoke React-based web application for laboratory scientists.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

You'll join a dynamic computational team comprising data scientists, bioinformaticians, and software engineers. We are united by our commitment to robust data models, best-in-class software development practices, and a codebase that is both functional and enjoyable to work with.
