Control Systems Engineer

Astute Technical is seeking a highly skilled Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at a Gas Storage facility in Hampshire. The successful candidate will have a strong background in process control systems and instrumentation, with experience in designing and implementing new systems and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop project work scopes and schedules for the Engineering Department, identifying areas for recommended plant improvement.
- Design and implement new process control systems and safety systems as part of capital projects.
- Take financial responsibility for small single-function C&I projects.
- Ensure instrumentation hazardous area design and installation is carried out in accordance with industry regulations.
- Provide technical support to operations, including diagnosis, root cause analysis, and implementation of remedial work required to ensure control system availability and integrity.
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to C&I Technicians.
- Ensure that all documentation and certification is in place for the installed facilities and that they fully comply with the statutory legislative and regulatory requirements with respect to the C&I discipline.
- A degree in a relevant Electronics, Control System/Automation or Instrumentation engineering field, or equivalent experience.
- IOSH or NEBOSH or similar in Health & Safety.
- At least five years supervisory experience in the Oil & Gas / COMAH / Chemical or similar industry.
- Experience working on PLC application software and AutoCAD.
